PBL - Protect Our Environment

Teaching Materials: Small World in-house scientific materials around the environment
Skill Learned: The writing process, article writing, typesetting, editing and writing, publishing articles, designing a booklet.
Project Timeline: 8-10 weeks
Student Output: A printed booklet, which shall demonstrate the problems facing our environment at this time and outline some possible solutions.

PBL - Mini-Shakespare

Teaching Materials: Eli Readers Literature Books/ Small World in-house literature materials
Skill Learned: Reading and comprehension, writing essays, writing for the stage, performing.
Project Timeline: 10-12 weeks
Student Output: A Student-designed script of a Shakespeare play and a student-directed performance of the play.

PBL - Newspaper Editors

Teaching Materials: Evan Moor Skill Sharpeners/ Small World in-house literature materials
Skill Learned: The writing process, article writing, typesetting, editing and writing, publishing articles
Project Timeline: 8-10 weeks
Student Output: A printed newspaper produced by the student, including front cover, overall design, and inserts.

PBL - Global Explorer

Teaching Materials: National Geography Reading Explorer/Small World in-house geography materials
Skill Learned: Writing informative articles, designing an informative poster, teamwork amongst the students
Project Timeline: 8-10 weeks
Student Output: A poster (designed and created by a pair of students)
Poster shall include cultural information and key facts on a foreign country formerly unknown to the student.

PBL - My Place in Space

Teaching Materials: National Geographic/ Small World in-house scientific materials
Skill Learned: Writing informative articles, designing informative poster, teamwork amongst the students
Project Timeline: 8-10 weeks
Student Output: An A3 poster
The poster shall include key information showing an understanding of our place within the solar system and the wider universe.
